Celebrate the Young at Art 2011

Q Gallery was abuzz with beaming young artists and proud parents as the crowds flowed in to attend the 2011 Celebrate the Young at Art reception and exhibit. Camera flashes blipped here and there as friends and family members recorded their youngsters standing next to their art in the Q’s elegant gallery setting.

Pink sticky notes were seen on a smattering of art pieces exclaiming “See Lady in Red!” indicating those few chosen to be displayed at the Brainerd YMCA until the next crop of art from the 2012 show is selected next year.

Those in attendance, especially the kids, enjoyed the tasty treats specifically concocted for the younger crowd, giving the whole atmosphere a party mood as the guests moved about the exhibit. What immediately stood out was the plethora of colors from the art adorning the walls and freestanding display columns, all brilliantly lit by the overhead spotlights. It’s certainly the Brainerd Lakes area’s most elegant display of children’s art. A sight that was definitely to behold!
