Artist Statement

I've always enjoyed painting and drawing and like to experiment with new media and especially enjoy the challenge of watercolor. The changing seasons of our beautiful area continually inspire me.

In the past several years, since retiring from a career in banking, I have found more time to indulge myself in the pleasure of painting. I continue to work with my husband Jim in our real estate appraisal and property management business, and our family is an important part of our lives, so painting remains a passion, not a full-time pursuit.

Participating in several art shows each summer, and winning several awards, has provided me the impetus to keep painting, working to improve technique and interpretation.

Belonging to local art groups like the Crosslake Art Club, Lakes Area Artists, The Crossing Arts Alliance, and Jaques Gallery, has afforded me an outlet to show and sell my work. It also provides me an opportunity to volunteer and support the arts locally.
