Q Gallery Exhibitions

Art patrons Jim and Diane Whiting transformed an ordinary junior high school science room into the premier art gallery in the central lakes area to celebrate and exhibit artistic talent. In 2009 they generously gifted the improvements to The Crossing Arts Alliance. Art lovers continue to come together at the Q, to be inspired and uplifted. Distinctive exhibitions include, but are not limited to Salute to the Arts and Picturing.

Occasionally people ask, “What does the Q stand for?” The answer : Quiet sigh. Understanding the nature of Minnesotans north of the “twin cities” (the metro area of Minneapolis and St. Paul), the Whitings chose the “Q Gallery” because even though many talented artist reside in these parts, an inclination toward blatant self-celebration is unnatural in the north woods.
